869,869. Actuation of switches; electromagnetic interrupters. SVENSKA RELAFABRIKEN A.B. July 20, 1959, No. 24850/59. Class 38 (5). A selector switch for automatic telephone systems comprises a plurality of contact spring sets arranged side by side and each having an actuator bar 8 longitudinally slidable against a blade spring 7 to operate all movable contact springs 1 in the respective set when an associated cam 13 engages a flexible lever 10. Cams 13 are mounted on a shaft 14 driven by a selfinterrupting electromagnet 20 which steps a ratchet wheel 24. Each cam 13 has a stud on one side and a recess on the other side angularly spaced by the amount of rotation of the shaft 14 for each step of the ratchet wheel 24, so that, when assembled with the stud on one cam fitting the recess of the adjacent cam, the spring sets are operated successively as the shaft 14 steps round. The self-interrupting arrangement comprises an arm 30 attached to the electromagnet armature 21 and engaging a sliding actuator member 31, the wedge-shaped end 34 of which separates contacts 37, 38 when the armature 21 is attracted; lost motion is provided by hole 32.
