[Also in Group XXII] In barbed wire comprising wire barbs 3 wound about a main wire 1, the main wire has projections 2 formed at, or adjacent, the barbs to prevent longitudinal movement of the barbs. The main wire between the projections has an oval or flattened cross-section, and the projections have a circular cross-section. In a modification a single projection is provided for each barb, a barb extending from one side of a projection to the other.
