Abstract

867,427. Lay figures. HILL & CO. (METAL TOYS) Ltd., JOHN. March 12, 1959 [March 7, 1958], No. 7429/58. Class 52(5). [Also in Group XV] A modelling set comprise plastic material such as modelling wax or clay and a model figure having a body portion dispropor tionately thin in relation to it other features and substantially circular in cross section, whereby the figure will be reasonably pro portioned when clothed with garments made from the plastic material. As shown, a figure ha a cylindrical body 10 intended to be "clothed" with garments mad from modelling wax worked into thin sheets. Garment patterns to which the wax is cut are provided, the wax cut-outs then being made into garments for placing on the model. Because of the reduced body of the model, the provision of garments which are thick in proportion to the model is of no consequence and the "clothed" model will be proportionate. The figure may be moulded from a synthetic resin, e.g. polythene, polyvinyl acetate or polystyrene. The head may comprise a skull on which the face is built up in clay or modelling wax.
