867,088. Lace machines. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Aug. 16, 1957 [Aug. 21, 1956], No. 25463/56. Class 74 (1). A lace machine has selectively shoggable warp threads 37 alternating with stationary holders 33 in which are rotatable bobbins 34, the warp threads 37 being fed upwards from a beam 14, through a tensioning device 8 and steel bars 10, to a slot 29 in a reciprocatable guide 28, and thence to a slot 26 in a guide 25 reciprocatable above the holders. When the warp threads are clear of the holders 33, they may be shogged by the steel bars 10 to a position between different holders; tail members 32, pivoted each to a holder 33, extend into the slot 29 and assist in promoting this clearance. The intertwisted bobbin threads and warp threads pass up through the gap 26, are beaten up and pass to a take-up roller 13.
