Abstract
The "endocellular particles," i.e. nuclei microsomes and mitochondria of the cells of foetal tissue are obtained substantially free from cytoplasmic residue by grinding the tissue under pressure sufficient to rupture the cells without substantial crushing of said particles and thereafter separating the particles from infilterable cytoplasmic residue by filtration. The active material may be worked up into conventional pharmaceutical forms, e.g. ointments, pills, suppositories and, particularly, parenterally acceptable aqueous suspensions. Specific reference is made to a suspension of the endocellular particles from foetal calf liver in a 5% aqueous solution of sucrose, and a 0.9% solution of sodium chloride.
