Class 40(3) [Also in Group XX] Radio-activity of substances dissolved or suspended in a liquid is measured after evaporation of the liquid. Liquid falls from container 7 at a uniform rate on to absorbent strip 2 which may comprise filter paper. Strip 2 moves at uniform speed over heater 3 which evaporates the liquid. The activity of the residue is measured by detector 4, amplifier 5 and indicator 6. Container 7 may oscillate relative to the strip 2.
