863,398. Coated glass fabrics. LAMM, W. R. March 31, 1959, No. 10803/59. Class 140. [Also in Group VI] A cigarette wrapper comprises a highly flexible sheet 13 formed of interwoven glass fibres, the sheet being pervious and of a thickness in the order of 0.003 inch, having an extremely thin tasteless impervious vegetable gum coating 15 along one surface thereof, the coated sheet being suitable to have its edges adhered to each other by the said gum coating in the formation of a cigarette. The coating e.g, of gum tragacanth, has a flexibility in the order of that of the sheet so that the coated sheet is capable of withstanding the rolling, crimping and shearing operations in the forming of a cigarette, and is readily combustible at the normal temperature of burning cigarette tobacco.
