862,772. Electric igniters. GEVELOT S. A. July 10, 1958 [July 16, 1957], No. 22206/58. Class 9(1). An electric igniter comprising a bead 1 of combustible material covering the bridge wire connecting electric leads 21 22 passing through a plug 3 is protected against moisture by a hood 4 fixed to the plug. The end face 5 of the hood may be conical or flat and has radial grooves 6 along which rupture occurs due to the increase in internal pressure when the bead is ignited. The flame can then pass without the emission of incombustible substances. When the end 5 is flat, it may have a central orifice closed by a thin inflammable membrane instead of the grooves of rupture. The hood 4 may be metal, synthetic plastic, such as polyvinyl chloride, or other waterproof material.
