Abstract

861,954. Ironing boards. CLARK CO., J. R. March 18, 1959, No. 9409/59. Class 138 (2). An ironing board has an end portion including a pair of sections 19 together providing a generally flat rectangular ironing surface, at least one of the sections being movable in a plane parallel to the ironing surface into overlapping relation with the other section. As shown, two wing sections 19 pivoted at 22 can be slid underneath a tapered nose portion of the board by means of a control handle 29 pivoted at 30. This handle 29 is connected to the sections 19 by pivoted links 35, and extends through an arcuate slot 31 in a plate 27.
