860,726. Book-supporting fittings. JOSEPH, L. O. Oct. 16, 1959 [July 18, 1958], No. 23042/58. Class 52(1). A book-support for slidable adjustment on a shelf has an upright structure bearing at its lower end on the upper surface of the shelf and an inwardly offset portion 16, 17 contacting the underside of the shelf to maintain the support upright against the pressure of the books. Adjusting means to adapt the device to shelves of different thicknesses can be provided and a stop 19 to prevent slewing. In the wire construction shown telescopic feet 9 provide the adjusting means, in alternate constructions an eccentrically mounted stop can replace the abutment member 17.
