Abstract

859,970. Packages. GRINDLE, W. G. May 12, 1959 [July 1, 1958], No. 21045/58. Class 94(1). A pack for stockings or other merchandise comprises an outer wrapping 2 and an inner float member 18, i.e. a thin card sheet, provided with an information bearing portion 26 which can be detached from the exterior of the assembled pack. The portion 26 is attached to an end flap 22 which is folded about a tine 20. The stockings are wrapped around the float 18 which is then inserted in the wrap 2 with the portion 26 projecting through a slit 17. Flaps 8 are folded in and the wrap is secured either by adhesive or by tucking a tongue 14 into a slit 16. A window 6 covered by a transparent cellulose film is also provided. In a modification the portion 26 projects between two folded over flaps or it may be visible and accessible for detachment through an aperture in the wrap.
