Abstract

856,227. Drawer slides. HALLAM, SLEIGH & CHESTON Ltd. Jan. 28, 1959 [Jan. 2, 1958], No. 176/58. Class 52(1) In a telescopic drawer slide the intermediate member 5 carries a catch 15 which can engage a slot 19 in the outer slide 4 when the inner, or drawer-carrying member, 6, has been displaced along the member 5 sufficiently far to allow the catch 15 to turn on its pivot 16. A spring-urged stop 20 on the inner member 6 can engage the end of the intermediate member 5 when the slide is fully extended. To close the drawer the stops 20 are manually displaced and the member 6 can then slide inwards until its end 6a abuts the heel 15b of the catch 15 which is thereby automatically freed to enable the parts to telescope into the outer slide 4.
