855,314. Converting. HAYNES RADIO Ltd., and HAYNES, F. H. March 3, 1959 [March 7, 1958], No. 7450/58. Class 38 (2). High-potential direct current is obtained by rectifying the output from a radio-frequency oscillator using a high-potential coil in two parts coupled to the oscillator circuit, one part at each end of the oscillator coil. Oscillator valve 10 is supplied with H.T. voltage through oscillator coil 11 in parallel with capacitor 12. Coupled to coil 11 are two portions 15, 16 of a high-potential coil, one end of coil 16 being connected to a point at constant potential, the positive H.T. line, earthed for radio frequency, and the other end to the anode of rectifier 18. One end of coil 15 is connected to the cathode of rectifier 18 and the other end to the anode of a second rectifier 20 whose cathode is connected to the output line. The cathode of rectifier 18 is connected to the cathode of rectifier 20 through capacitor 26, and to earth through capacitor 25. The connection and winding sense of windings 15, 16 is such that the voltages developed are additive. In another embodiment the output is increased by adding valves 30, 31 (Fig. 3, not shown) in a voltage-doubling arrangement.
