855,259. Supporting light fittings. POSNER, J. D. Sept. 10, 1959 [Feb. 9, 1959], No. 4438/59. Class 75(3). An electric light fitting comprises a base plate 1 adapted to be secured to a ceiling rose or like fitting, a U-shaped bracket 5 secured to the base plate 1 for connection to the chains or other fitting support members, the base plate being formed with a central aperture 2 through which the electric connections to the light fitting may pass. The base plate may be a flat metal or metal reinforced plastic disc having the slot 3 connecting the central aperture 2 with the periphery of the plate and apertures 4 for connecting to the plate support. The plate may have the form of a cap to be fitted on a ceiling rose.
