Abstract
853,222. Electron beam apparatus. MULLARD Ltd. Aug. 12, 1959, No. 27587/59. Class 39(1). A cathode for an electron-beam tube such as a klystron or travelling wave tube includes, within the cathode shell S, a heater H and a soft ferro-magnetic alloy member M which may be either behind the heater as shown, or between the heater and the emissive surface F. The member M is associated with magnetic members N, N forming part of the magnetic beam focusing system.
