Abstract
853,102. Cloches and like. SMYTH, P. S. Nov. 5, 1956 [Nov. 7, 1955], No. 31702/55. Class 20(1) The surface of a plastic cloche is moulded with perforated indentations such as corrugations or channels to catch water &c. and feed it to the plants underneath. Pipes may be secured in the perforations. The plastic shape may be self sustaining or supported on a frame. In Fig. 1 the sides are smooth and unperforated to prevent wind entering. In Fig. 4 the corrugations are deep and inclined and the holes X may be above their lowest level so that the corrugations may hold a store of water for tipping inside later. Fig. 5 shows other shapes of corrugations. The cloche may have wooden closing ends. The cloche may be held in the ground by a corkscrew type of hold downs. Various cloches may be secured together, end to end.
