In the process according to the parent Specification, wherein a binder-material which will set and cure under acid conditions to form a solid synthetic resin-binder is set and cured by exposure to a curing-agent in gas or vapour form, the remaining acidic material is neutralized by exposing the mould or core to ammonia. Curing-agents referred to, other than those referred to in the parent Specification, are chlorine, hydrogen-bromide, ammoniumchloride, hydrogen-iodide and sulphur-dioxide.
