A tractor body 1, Fig. 1, is supported on wheels 6, 7 which are attached to a bogie 5, by trunnions 4. A pair of hydraulic jacks 8, also support the tractor body. Each jack consists of a double acting cylinder, the upper and lower chambers of which are connected with the corresponding chambers of the jack on the opposite side of the tractor. This interconnection serves to equalize the weight distribution on the four wheels. If the left hand front wheel moves upwardly, the right hand front wheel will move a corresponding distance downwardly, thus the body of the tractor is displaced by a smaller amount than the wheels. In order to eliminate entirely vertical movements of the body, or to enable the height of the body to be adjusted, a reservoir of hydraulic liquid, a pump, valves and conduits are provided so that liquid may be supplied to or withdrawn from the hydraulic jacks to raise or lower the level of the tractor above the ground. A single hydraulic jack 33, 34, Fig. 5, may be used at the rear of the tractor. One end of the jack is pivoted' at 35 to the tractor body, whilst the opposite end is attached to bogie-beams 40 through links 36, 38. A single hydraulic jack 60, 61, Fig. 7, located half-way along the tractor body and connected to bogiebeams 52 through linkages 58 and 54 may be provided. The linkages 58 are attached to the tractor body by a member 57. The tractor body may be raised or lowered with respect to the ground in the two latter embodiments as in the embodiment first described.
