Abstract

852,469. Agricultural implements. MASSEYFERGUSON Inc. Feb. 5, 1957 [Feb. 23, 1956], No. 3884/57. Class 6(1). A disc harrow particularly for use in vineyards and orchards comprises a transverse frame member 16, inner and outer cantilever members 26, 27, 23, 24 which support pairs of gangs of rotatable concave-convex discs the front pair of gangs being supported by members 23, 26, the gangs diverging rearwards and the rear pair of gangs being supported by members 24, 27, the gangs converging rearwards. The harrow is attached to the three point linkage of a tractor 5, the two lower links 9 being connected to curved members 33 fixed to the members 26 and to a tube 32, the upper link 8 being connected to upright members 34 which are braced by members 36. Each gang is secured by a bracket assembly 48 comprising legs 53 provided with bearings 46 which co-operate with bearing supports 42. The discs are spaced by the supports 42 and by tubular spacers 43 and each gang is held by a bolt 47. Additional discs 70 may be provided in the gangs when desired.
