[Also in Group XXXII] The forward axle 6 of a tandem wheel assembly of a semi-trailer or truck is suspended by a pneumatic spring 10 (see Group XXXII) which permits limited movement of the axle 6 about a vertical axis. A socket 20 in a boss 19 rigid with the casing of the spring 10 provides a mounting for a pin 21 which is centred by the action of respective pairs of coil springs 28, 29 on either side of the vehicle. These springs are supplemented by pneumatic springs charged by a reservoir 134.
