Abstract
849,325. Radio direction-finders. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. May 15, 1959 [May 22, 1958], No. 16725/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 40(7). Relates to radio direction-finders wherein different parts of an aerial system are switched consecutively to a common tunable receiver whose output is switched synchronously to frequency-selective channels leading to a bearing display device. According to the invention means are provided for interrupting the receiver input switching and substituting unswitched signals derived from the aerial system. This enables receiver tuning to be effected without interference from the switching modulation sidebands. The embodiment comprises two mutually perpendicular loop aerials and a sense aerial, the unswitched signals being obtained from the loop outputs combined in phase quadrature and the bearing being displayed on a cathode-ray tube, Fig. 2 (not shown).
