Abstract
848,441. Condenser arrangements. C.A.V. Ltd. Nov. 2, 1956 [Nov. 22, 1955], No. 33375/55. Class 38 (4). Apparatus for electrifying an electric fence comprises an electromagnet having a pair of oppositely-wound operating coils a, b and contacts d which are normally closed, the coil a having a larger inductance than the coil b which latter coil b is serially connected to a condenser c. When a source of direct current is applied to the parallely connected coils a, b the condenser c charges up by way of the coil b. During this period the predominating effect of the coil b will maintain contacts d closed and the change of voltage across the coil b as the condenser charges will cause energization of a fence connected to the secondary winding e1 of a transformer connected across the coil b. When the condenser c is fully charged, the coil a predominates to open contacts d whereupon the condenser o discharges through the coils a, b, causing a further energization of the fence. When the condenser is discharged,-contacts d reclose and the cycle is repeated.
