Abstract

The invention comprises S.N-ditrityl-L-cysteinyl-L-tyrosine and its esters, and the D-isomers and racemates thereof and a process of condensing S.N-ditrityl-L-cysteine and an L-tyrosine ester in a solvent in presence of an N.N1-disubstituted carbodiimide, e.g., N.N1-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide in methylene chloride as solvent. The diethylamine salt of the S.N-ditrtyl-L-cysteine and the hydrochloride of the L-tyrosine ester are employed in an example, and the ester obtained is saponified. The optical antipodes or racemates of the above starting materials may be employed. Specification 848,407 is referred to.
