Abstract
The invention comprises S.N-ditrityl-L-cysteinyl-L-tyrosyl-L-isoleucine, its esters, and D-isomers or racemates of either. They are made by condensing S.N-ditrityl-cysteinyl-tyrosine, which may first be converted to its triethylamine salt, and an isoleucine ester, in a solvent such as methylene chloride in presence of an N.N1-disubstituted carbodimide, such as N.N1-dicyclohexylcarbodimide, which may be present in excess. The esters first obtained are subjected to p alkaline saponification to give the acids. Specifications 848,403, 848,404, 848,406, 848,407 and 848,408 are referred to.
