Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0848379/IV(b)/1> Where R is a methyl group in 2 or 3 position of the benzene ring. The compounds may be prepared by reacting chrysanthemumic acid, an aliphatic ester thereof, or an acid halide thereof with 2.4 or 3.4-dimethylbenzyl alcohol. Sodium may be added to the reaction mixture. The compounds are used as insecticides.ALSO:Compounds of formula: <FORM:0848379/VI/1> where R is methyl group in 2 or 3 position in the benzene ring are used as insecticides. Inert carriers specified are solvents e.g. kerosene or naphtha, dusts, e.g. talc, liquefied gases suitable for providing an aerosol, and emulsifiers.
