Abstract

A Ziegler polymerisation catalyst is used to prepare an ethylene and 0,2 to 10% butene-1 copolymer. The usual catalyst components, e.g. titanium tetrachloride and a reducing alkyl metal compound such as aluminium triethyl, and hydrocarbon solvents, e.g. propane, n-pentane, n-heptane, n-dodecene, and refined gasolines, kerosenes and gas oils. Specifications 799,392, 799,823 and Belgium Specification 533,362 are referred to.
