Abstract
847,207. Ice-making. BRODRENE GRAM A.S. Nov. 6, 1958 [Nov. 22, 1957], No. 35719/58. Class 29 Relates to ice-making apparatus comprising a stationary annular trough 1 and a superimposed rotating table 3 having freezing pockets 4 depending into the trough and arranged in annular and radial rows, freezing liquid being passed radially through the trough from inlets 8 in its inner wall 6 to outlets 9 in its outer wall 7 during a substantial part of the rotation, and thawing liquid being sprayed upwards against the pockets through a duct 16 in a part 2' of the bottom 2 during another part of the rotation. According to the invention radial partitions fixed to the table 3 are disposed between each two radial rows of pockets 4 and fit closely to the walls of the trough, the ends of the freezing part of the trough are defined by outlets 13, 13a for freezing liquid through the bottom 2, and outlets 15, 15a. in the bottom 2 flank the thawing part of the trough. Outlets 13, 15 and 13a, 15a are separated by knife edges 14, 17. To suit tables having differing depths of pockets, the bottom wall 2 is vertically adjustable. Specification 509.411 is referred to.
