Abstract

847,032. Automatic control systems. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO. Ltd. May 23, 1958, No. 16741/58. Class 38 (4). Control signals are applied at terminals 1 to a servo system (not shown) connected to terminals 3. As applied to an aircraft servo system, when changing from manual to automatic control or when changing between altitude, speed or radio control, the signals applied to the servo system are initially short-circuited by rectifiers 4 which are rendered conducting by a D.C. source 7 when reversing switch 8 is in its right-hand position. By operating switch 8 to its left-hand position the subsequent rise of voltage of a condenser 5 due to charging through resistances 6 gradually increases the bias of rectifiers 4, and hence the maximum signal that can be applied to the servo system, so that the change-over takes place without shock.
