Abstract
847,018. Cutting by fusion. BRITISH OXYGEN GASES Ltd. April 6, 1959 [April 9, 1958], No. 11179/58. Class 83 (4). A nozzle mounting bracket 10, for securing a nozzle assembly 11 to the head of a flamecutting machine, has a channel 14 with convergent side-walls in which the assembly is secured by a clamp 15, and at least one distancepiece 20, 21 is provided to lie against either side wall prior to mounting of the assembly. A fixed distance-piece 20 co-operates with a number of pivoted distance-pieces 21 which may be moved selectively like the leaves of a book, Fig. 2 (not shown), to lie against the fixed distance-piece or the opposite wall. These pieces are numbered to correspond with the size of cutting nozzle used and allow for the width of the kerf. Alternatively, separate exchangeable distance-pieces may be used. The clamp 15 is secured by a pivoted screw 18 and nut 19 or by a screw passing into a threaded hole in the bracket. The latter is adjustably secured by a clamp block 12 to the machine-head.
