Abstract
846,934. Electric incandescent lamps. EGYESULT IZZOLAMPA ES VILLAMOSSAGI R. T. July 30, 1957 [Aug. 1, 1956], No. 24149/57. Class 39(2). An incandescent lamp especially for infrared radiation has a reflecting coating on part of the inner surface of the bulb, the remainder of the surface being given a coating of pigment of micron grain size producing a matt finish. In a method of producing a bulb, the coatings are applied successively in any order, the other coating being removed from those areas where it is not wanted. In one method, a pigment such as titanium dioxide in a solution of butyl acetate or acetone containing a binder such as collodion is applied to the bulb, the unwanted parts of the resulting coating are removed mechanically or chemically and a reflecting coating applied by evaporation, unwanted parts of this coating being then removed by chemical means. Alternatively, the reflecting coating is applied first, unwanted parts are removed and the remaining parts coated with collodion. The matt coating is then applied and the collodion coating together with the overlying matt coating removed. The outside of the bulb may be provided with a red lacquer coating or a red pigment may be fired on to the outer surface. Specification 695,081 is referred to.
