Abstract

845,556. Spectacle cases. U. K. OPTICAL BAUSCH & LOMB Ltd. Oct. 31, 1956, No. 33316/56. Class 97(1) A spectacle case comprises a tubular body formed of metal or other rigid material open at each end for the insertion of spectacles and provided with a lining adapted to hold the inserted spectacles frictionally. As shown in Fig. 3 the case is formed of a flat sheet 11 of metal having placed on one side a layer 7 of plastic wadding and a layer 6 of plastic such as polyvinyl chloride and on the other side a plastic layer 5. The overlapping edges of plastic are then welded together and the sheet bent to the section shown in Fig. 2 the edges 13 being joined by welding or stitching and the inner lining forming longitudinal bulges 9, 10 to grip the spectacles.
