844,817. Solid wheel-tyres. DAYTON RUBBER CO. June 6, 1958 [March 3, 1958], No. 18185/58. Class 144 (2). A solid tyre 15 for trolley and like wheels comprises a rubber or like plastic body 16 reinforced near its inner periphery by a layer of a continuous helically-wound cord 17 of nylon, polyesters, rayon, cotton, ramie, glass or wire and having an outer peripheral wear-resistant tread band 18 of urethane rubber. The body 16 may comprise natural rubber, or butadienestyrene copolymer, butadiene-acrylic nitrile copolymer, polychloroprene or the like, and the tread-band 18 may be bonded integrally with, or removably assembled or cemented to; the body 16. The tyres may be cut from an elongated tube or sleeve formed on a drum. To dissipate heat, transverse through holes 23 may be provided in the tyre body 16. Specification 841,660 is referred to.
