Abstract

844,591. Transistor bistable circuits. MULLARD Ltd. April 1, 1959, No. 11052/59. Class 40(6). A bistable-state circuit comprises two reciprocally coupled transistors T1, T2 and a semiconductor diode D connected in its forwardlyconducting direction in the path constituted by the cross-connection from the base of one transistor T1 to the collector of the other transistor T2 together with the collector circuit of said other transistor, whereby on the gradual application of the collector biasing voltage V cc the circuit always assumes initially a state in which the other transistor T2 is conducting owing to the relatively large resistance exhibited by the diode for small values of applied voltage. Instead of being connected as shown the diode may be connected in one of the crossed base-collector couplings. Triggering may be effected by application of a pulse to cause the transistor T3 to bottom momentarily, the output being taken from transistor T4. A further output transistor T5. symmetrically arranged with respect to transistor T4, may be provided; this ensures that the two transistors are substantially equally loaded and also permits two oppositely-phased outputs to be taken.
