844,125. Models. SCHLEICH, F. Aug. 26, 1958, No. 27311/58. Class 3(2) [Also in Groups XIV and XV] A supple figure for use as a display or advertising device, window display model or in making cinema films, comprises a sheathing, e.g. of rubber or synthetic material such as polyvinyl chloride, enclosing and embedding a soft wire core or skeleton and having a series of transverse channels, notch-like grooves or incisions therein so that it can be bent and stay bent. In a figure of a tiger, Fig. 1, grooves in the body 3 extend only part way round the sheathing whereas those in the limbs 4 and tail are annular. The cheeks of the head may be grooved and may be bent to alter the facial expression. The soft wire core may consist of a large number of wires twisted together; intermediate portions 6 of the sheathing between the grooves may be of unequal length and may be notched or spiked to give a furry appearance. The unslotted tubular part of the sheathing surrounding the core need not be of uniform diameter and the figure may be covered with a skin 9, Fig 5, which yields elastically.
