Abstract
843,523. Poultry feeding appliances. GROSSMITH, N. Feb. 12, 1959 [Feb. 17, 1958 ; Aug. 13, 1958], Nos. 5065/58 and 25958/58. Class 5(2). A feeding trough, particularly for use in connection with the poultry battery described in Specification 843,521, comprises two internal baffles 12 and 13 for the purpose of eradicating wastage of the food by preventing it from being flicked out of the trough by the birds. The complete structure may be formed of sherardised mild steel sheet, or alternatively the trough may be made of galvanised sheet iron or aluminium sheet with wooden end members 14 and baffles. The trough is located on the battery by engaging the upper edge of the wall 10 inside an abutment or slotted member of the battery and by engaging the lugs 22 behind a horizontal member of the battery.
