Class 52(3) A drawing table with a support 1 and an arm 2 tiltable in relation thereto on a shaft 7 and carrying a drawing board 4 tiltable by means of a shaft 9 parallel to shaft 7 has one or more tension springs 11 connected between support and arm 2 to provide a balancing force for the arm and a spring or springs 17 connected to a sprocket wheel 13 on shaft 7 and to support 1, the sprocket 13 being connected by a chain with a similar sprocket 15 secured to shaft 9. The board 4 may be locked in any position by means of a braking mechanism consisting of a disc 18 secured to support 1, two discs 19 secured to arm 2 and a disc 20 secured to sleeve 12 on which is mounted sprocket 13 the discs being moved together or apart in known manner manually or by operation of a pedal.
