842,372. Toy firearms. BRITISH XYLONITE CO. Ltd. Sept. 26, 1958 (Jan. 2, 1958], No. 188/58. Class 132(3). A toy firearm such as a pistol comprises a bulbous hollow body 2 of resilient mouldable material defining a squeeze chamber 3 which communicates with a firing nozzle 6 in the form of a resilient cup adapted to receive a rounded projectile 7. As shown, the cup has a thickened portion 8 at its rim which tightly grips in sealing fashion a projectile, e.g. a celluloid table tennis ball, pushed hard into the nozzle so that on squeezing the chamber the projectile is expelled with a popping noise. The hollow body and nozzle cup may be moulded in one piece from a vinyl plastic or from rubber and may be formed with parts representing a safety catch 9, a trigger 10, a sight 11 and butt plates.
