Abstract
The invention comprises the racemic lactams of 12,13,14-trimethoxy-9-methylthio-3-amino-4,8 - dihydro - 4,5 - 6,7 - dibenzo - D 4,6 - cycloheptadiene - 8 - carboxylic acid (I), 12,13,14-trimethoxy - 9 - methylthio - 3 - amino - 4,5-6,7 - dibenzo - D 4,6 - cycloheptadiene - 8 - carboxylic acid (II) and 12,13,14 - trimethoxy - 3-amino - 4,5 - 6,7 - dibenzo - D 4,6 - cycloheptadiene-8-carboxylic acid (III), and the preparation thereof by reacting thiocolchicine with an alkali metal alcoholate to obtain (I), then reacting (I) with an alkali metal hydroxide to obtain (II), from which (III) is formed by catalytic hydrogenation.
