Abstract

840,273. Stair-carpet fasteners. MONO CURTAIN RAIL CO. Ltd. Nov. 10, 1958 [Nov. 13, 1957], No. 35331/57. Class 52(5) A stair-carpet fastener comprises a pair of brackets 10 each having a projection 103 overlying the edges of the carpet, and a retaining bar 13 fitting between the projections and having sleeves 14 which are slidable to engage socketwise with the projections, the sleeves being of complementary shape to the cross-section of the bar and projections. Each sleeve has a rim 142 to aid manipulation and is arrested by the projecting parts of the part 102 of the bracket. The fastener is made partly or entirely of plastic or of metal, plastic-coated or otherwise finished in the desired colour. The bar 13 is preferably a hollow plastic moulding reinforced by a metal strip 131. The cross-section of the bar &c. may be other than triangular.
