Abstract

839,397. Electrophotographic development. ZINDLER, W., [trading as LUMOPRINT ZINDLER KOMM.-GES.]. June 13, 1957 [June 29, 1956; Aug. 28, 1956], No. 18715/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2) An electrostatic latent image on a photoconductive sheet' is developed by passing the sheet downwardly into, through and upwardly out of a mass of developer powder comprising toner and carrier particles, and then to a fusing device. In one embodiment, guide wires in the form of an upwardly open arc are arranged in the developer powder mass to guide the sheet. On emerging from the developer powder excess powder is removed by a rod which vibrates on the back of the sheet, and the developed sheet is then passed to the fusing device. The container for the developer powder may be shaken. In another embodiment, the photoconductive sheet is in the form of a web which is guided through the developer powder by means of two rollers placed in the powder. Agitator paddle wheels are provided in the powder mass. After emerging from the powder, the back of the web passes over a rotating brush which assists in removing excess powder before the web passes to the fusing device.
