Abstract

838,970. Counting-apparatus. LANDIS & GYR A.G. Feb. 8, 1957 [Feb. 11, 1956], No. 4436/57. Class 106 (1). A counter comprises a plurality of cylindrical indicating wheels such as 10, Fig. 1, notionally divided into ten zones 14 bearing code symbols such as 16 for the digits 0-9 in one or more of four symbol areas. The code symbols contrast photographically with the roller surface. The counter is mounted in a housing 20, Fig. 3, adjacent the viewing aperture 21 of which identification symbols in the same code as the indicating wheel symbols are provided. As applied to subscribers' meters at a telephone exchange, the meters may be periodically photographed, the information being punched on cards for processing.
