Abstract

838,671. Road-vehicle spring suspensions. MOBRIS MOTORS Ltd. Nov. 19, 1958 [Nov. 20, 1957], No. 36101/57. Class 108(2) In a road wheel suspension comprising upper and lower transverse links 19, 23, the lower link 23 is a universally-jointed drive shaft. Each universal joint 25 may be of the construction described in Spedfication 808,807. The road wheel 1 is carried by a bell crank shaped member 2 having an arm 7 extending longitudinally and rubber jointed at 10 to the vehicle frame. The other arm 8 of the member 2 forms, at its outer end, a connection for the outer end of the link 19. The wheel arch panel 27 is slotted at 26 to accommodate the movement of the link 19. A cool supension spring is embodied in a hydraulic damper 28. Any other form of suspension spring may be used.
