838,103. Transformers. FOSTER TRANSFORMERS Ltd., and JENNINGS, R. E. Dec. 12, 1957 [Dec. 18, 1956], No. 38538/56. Class 38 (2). In making a variable transformer of the kind wherein a winding 2 is directly engaged by a contact roller 4, a. contact track is formed by removing insulation at 5 between the winding turns with a rotary wire brush so as to provide a track of corrugated form. The brushing may also remove insulation from the winding wire. The track may be straight or circular.
