838,048. Electroplating-barrels. KOVOFINIS NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 17, 1958 [Nov. 22, 1957], No. 36919/58. Class 41. An apparatus for electroplating small objects in bulk comprises a rotatable open-ended barrel 1 and drive mechanism 4 therefor mounted as a unit on a support 6 pivoted at 10 to a vat 12 so tht the barrel may be brought into and out of liquid in the vat, a trough 7 pivoted at 8 to the support 6 for movement therewith, a slide 9 integral with the trough 7 and engaging means, e.g. a pin 11, on the vat 12 so that when the barrel 1 is in the vat 12 the trough 7 overhangs the open end of the barrel, and when the barrel is out of the vat the open end of the barrel overhangs the trough 7. The pin 11 engages a slot in the slide 9, so that clockwise movement of the barrel 1 about the pivot 10 in Fig. 2 by manual operation of a handle 5 produces a slight anti-clockwise movement of the trough 7 about the pivot 8 relative to the support 6 to bring the end a of the trough 7 to a point adjacent and below the open end of the barrel 1.
