Abstract
837,760. Juke-box gramophone apparatus. FOUFOUNIS, J. T. Jan. 20, 1959 [April 1, 1958], No. 2128/59. Class 40 (2). The records in a juke-box gramophone, one only of which is shown at 15, in rest position in solid lines and in playing position in chain-dotted lines, are arranged generally toroidally about an axis corresponding to to the member 144a. One resiliently-mounted motor 19 drives the roller 46, which engages a member 27, fitted to the opposite side of the record. A plurality of push-button selectors 51, 52 arranged in two banks, corresponding with the two sides of each record, are sensed by the members 53, 54. When the central mechanism has been rotated by a second motor to select a record, contact means operate successively to (a) operate the face-cam 50; (b) operate linkage as 64, to feed the record; (c) lower the pick-up arm 31 to playing position; (d) start the motor 19 in such direction and engage such of the styli as is necessary to play the record; (e) restore the record to its rest position and proceed to the next selection. When there are no further selections, the turntable makes one complete revolution, which actuates means to switch the machine off. The machine may be coin-operated.
