Abstract
837,478. Determining sulphur dioxide content of air. CENTRAL ELECTRICITY GENERATING BOARD, CUMMINGS, W. G., and REDFEARN, M. W. Feb. 12, 1958 [Feb. 12, 1957], No. 4754/57. Class 40 (3). To determine the sulphur dioxide content of air, it is supplied by a pipe 2 to the lower end of a countercurrent absorption column 1 to the upper end of which starch-iodine reagent is supplied from a reservoir 6. The colours of the reagent before and after passage through the column 1 are compared by passing it through cells 7, 8 between a lamp 9 and photo-cells 12, 13. Fluid flow meters 14, 15 are provided.
