836,981. Cartons. GONTIER, F. A. H. March 23, 1956 [Dec. 23, 1954], No. 37275/54. Class 18. A substantially semi-circular carton has lid and base joined by a wall 9 having end extensions 11, 12 fitting inside the base wall 3. The lid and base walls may be of equal radius, a strip 10 being provided to permit the lid to move forward slightly relative to the base. The carton may be manufactured by pressing out a circular tray, slitting the tray wall on opposite sides to form the extensions 11, 12 and corrugating the base portion between the slits to form the wall 9. According to the Provisional Specification, the carton may be made from a blank cut by dies stepped so that the lid panel 5 lies above the base panel 2 with the centres of curvature along a vertical axis about which the blank is rotated in forming the walls 1, 4.
