Abstract
833,215. Discharge tubes. PHILCO CORPORATION. Jan. 24, 1956 [Jan 24., 1955], No. 2293/56. Class 39(1). A getter unit is formed of at least two separate getter holders, joined together so as to form a single inductive loop or framework, so that the getters are fired simultaneously on induction heating. Fig. 4 shows four such getter units 31-34, each in the form of a rectangular framework. They are shown as disposed in the neck of a cathode ray tube, and lying in a plane parallel to the tube axis. They are fired by a coil whose axis is perpendicular to said tube axis. The getter unit is so disposed that the areas of getter deposited on the tube wall overlap, as shown in Fig. 3a. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 799,291.
