Abstract
An ear protector is made from organopolysiloxane and is moulded to fit the convolutions of the outer ear. The material is cold curing and results in a pliable, rubbery article. The meatus is plugged with cotton wool and uncured siloxane material is pressed into the pinna of the ear to fill it as far as the helix. The material is then allowed to polymerize and, when hard, it and the cotton wool plug are removed. It then forms a closely fitting protector which does not work loose and does not cause any pressure or discomfort. Specifications 764,246 and 804,199 are referred to.
