Abstract
Polyvinyl pyrrolidone is added to an aqueous brew of coffee, tea or the like before the concentration, by evaporation, of the brew. The coffee is roasted and treated with boiling water during or after which treatment polyvinyl pyrrolidone is added which may amount to form 1% of to twice the quantity of coffee solids. The solution is the concentrated. Tea may be treated similarly and may be sweetened or flavoured slightly with lemon juice. The bulk brewing of the coffee or tea should preferably be done in closed containers to retain the aromatic and flavouring components.
